As well as our fleet of luxury vehicles – Old, New and Blue Wedding Cars is operated by S L Bell Minibuses giving us access to a large range of minibuses and other vehicles available to cater for parties and groups of guests.
We can help make sure everybody arrives on-time safely and gets home without calling a flock of taxis.
Meet Our Team
Introducing you to the team here at Old, New and Blue Wedding Cars . When we are not out Chauffeuring at weddings or special occasions we are busy behind the scenes.
Andy and Ashley keep the maintenance with the cars up to scratch along with the cleaning and polishing of the bodywork,
Sarah makes sure that the interior of the cars are looking nice, tidy and clean.
Rhiannon puts together flower arrangements to match the colour scheme of the wedding and dresses all the cars with bows and ribbons.
About Us
Old, New and Blue wedding cars is a new venture for us. The business will be run along side the very successful S L Bell minibuses. S L Bell minibuses is an established company based in Trecwn, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. Sarah Bell took over the company 3 years ago from Alun Phillips who started it up in 1982. As well as the new wedding cars (Beauford, Herald Jaguar XJ, Rolls Royce Silver Spur and a (VW Beetle currently in restoration). We have a wide selection of buses from 8 to 16 seaters available for all your guests including wheelchair accessible vehicles. All the drivers are fully licenced, DBS checked and required to wear a uniform. Our aim is to run a professional and friendly service with a smile. The cars are also available for special occasions (birthday parties, anniversarys etc)
The Fleet
Jaguar XJ
When Sarah and Andy purchased the Jaguar Sarah came up with the idea that it would make a lovely car for a wedding. This then got the cogs going in both their minds and the decision was made to commence Old, New and Blue Wedding Cars. Back in lockdown 2020, the Jaguar made her primary appearance at the First wedding.
Beetle
Since Sarah was a very young girl she has always dreamed of having a VW Beetle so the search was on. When they found this one for sale there was no question about it, they were going on a long trip up towards Halifax to bring her home! She is currently undergoing restoration work and will hopefully be out on weddings in the very near future.
Beauford
The Beauford was the third purchase as they felt that Old, New and Blue needed something that gave it the WOW factor. Another early start this time to pick the Beauford from Evesham. The Beauford is originally a convertible with a soft top hood, but they decided with the weather being so unpredictable in Pembrokeshire that they would get a removable Hard top custom made for her. With a wedding just a few weeks away they didn’t think that the hard top would be ready in time so were praying for a nice dry day, unfortunately with the forecast looking a bit unsettled the pressure was on to get the hard top ready, cutting it very fine on the Friday night the final fitting took place and the car was ready to go.
Triumph Herald
Back in the 1960’s Sarah’s mum (Dorothy) owned a Triumph Herald which was her pride a joy but when she met Sarah’s Dad (Donald) they decided to sell her as they didn’t need two cars.
During a conversation with Andy one evening Sarah happened to mention that she would love to ger a Triumph Herald like the one her mum owned. Andy was straight on the case searching for one as close as possible even down to the colour. Within a few weeks Andy found this one, A long, wet drive down to St Austell meant they were able to bring back the car and surprise Dorothy.
The Triumph had seats had been modified so they decided to restore it back to the original, found some old seat which needed reupholstering so off they went to a lady in Newcastle Emlyn. With a wedding fast approaching the race was on to get the seats back in time. Thursday evening the phone rang, the seats were ready which meant a busy day on Friday getting them fitted to the car.
Rolls Royce
Well, where do we begin… the story behind how we ended up with the Rolls Royce was a stressful but interesting one!
Originally Andy fell for a Bentley up in Cheshire, Rang the owner, sorted out deposit and was waiting for it to pass MOT. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the car, they were waiting for parts to turn up. With a wedding getting closer by the day Andy was getting nervous as all four cars were booked. 10 days before the wedding Andy had the phone call he was waiting for the car was ready to be picked up. So off they went up to Cheshire, he then spent days cleaning and polishing the car ready to go but then the worst thing happened the engine wasn’t running right! On the phone to the previous owner it was agreed that his mechanic would come down and look at the car. One week before the wedding it was decided the car needed to go back up to Cheshire to be fixed. Parts were ordered and we were just to sit and wait, days went by and the part still had not turned up. Andy, Sarah and the owner then came to the decision that they would swap cars for the Rolls Royce. Thursday came which meant another long trip up to Cheshire to get the new car only gave us one day to get her in perfect condition and dressed ready for the wedding on Saturday Morning.
